F1RST Media Ltd has teamed up with Earth Hour Caribbean to observe Earth Hour on Saturday 29 March from 8:30 – 9:30 pm.

In February 2014 we launched an online discovery engine designed to connect people with the amazing experiences the region has to offer. Now, F1RST is partnering with Earth Hour Caribbean to demonstrate our commitment to preserving these experiences for the benefit of generations to come.

Earth Hour was created in 2007 by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) to raise awareness of the effects of energy consumption and stimulate accountability among individuals, businesses and governments for their ecological footprint. The shutting off of all non-essential lights is a symbolic gesture meant to stimulate dialogue and resource exchange in a bid to find solutions to environmental challenges.

During the 60 minute lights-out exercise, F1RST users throughout the region will unlock a special Earth Hour badge by checking in to any location encouraging them to do their part to reduce the region’s carbon footprint.
